The story behind the story

It started with
a little girl.
And chocolate.

A father. A daughter.
A book we wrote together.

Piper once said no to trying chocolate.
Yes, chocolate.

It's a story her dad, Matt, likes to remind her of. Because sometimes the things we're sure we won't like turn out to be things we love.

As Piper and Matt talked about all the new experiences she'd initially said no to, Piper realised she was glad her dad had encouraged her to give them a chance.

Those conversations became Negative Nancys. A book they wrote together about a grumpy squirrel, a wonderfully unruly tail, and how much more life has to offer when we open up to the world.
